Donald Gene Stambaugh, 66, of Prestonsburg, died Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at King’s Daughters Medical Center.
He was born March 5, 1946, to the late Thomas Ray and Daisy Prater Stambaugh. He was the husband of Gaynell Calhoun Stambaugh, a retired maintenance worker for American Standard, and a member of the Third Avenue Freewill Baptist Church, in Prestonsburg.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Ray Stambaugh, and a sister, Mary Francis Stambaugh.
He is survived by two sons, Donald Jamison Stambaugh (wife: Patricia) and Ray Calhoun Stambaugh, both of Prestonsburg; two brothers, Ronald Dean Stambaugh, of Richmond, and Gilbert Neal Stambaugh, of Prestonsburg; two sisters, Shirley Williamson, of McKee, and Carol Sue Hackworth, of Salyersville; two grandchildren, Joshua Dalton Stambaugh and Madison Dawn Stambaugh; and his buddy, “Bud.”
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, March 1, at Third Avenue Freewill Baptist Church, in Prestonsburg, with Phillip Ramey, Richard Crisp and Manford Fannin officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Calhoun Cemetery, in Prestonsburg.
