Siller Moore Davis, 93, of Red Jacket, departed from her earthly body and became renewed with her Lord and Savior while surrounded by her children, family, and friends at the Williamson Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, March 19, 2013.

Born May 16, 1919 at Wolf Creek, Warfield, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Buddy and Virgie Moore.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Roy C. Davis; one daughter, Margaret Dotson; two sons Dean “Deno” Davis and Woodrow Wilson Davis; two grandsons Larry D. Garrels and Rocky Davis; three brothers Isaac, Hoover, and Roosevelt Moore; and five sisters Vinnie Fields, Lora Jude, Kennie Fields, Ida B. Walker, and Tyna Jude.

“Granny” or “Sister Davis”, as she was lovingly called by all who knew her, was a devoted Christian with an unwavering faith in the Lord. She was a lifelong member of the Varney Fundamental Christian Church at Varney. Granny traveled throughout her life helping to spread the Gospel. she never missed an opportunity to give the Lord’s messages to everyone she met, thru praise or prayer, she made sure everyone knew how to receive a blessing and become a child of God.

Survivors include five sons Craig (Angela) Davis of Meador, Bradford (Shirley) Williams of Williamson, Wilson “Chiefy” (Elaine) Davis of Turkey Creek, Ky., Lowell “Topsy” (Janet) Davis of Piqua, Ohio, and Loyal “Budgie” (Sue) Davis of Piqua, Ohio; 1 daughter Shelby (Larry) Garrels of Virginia Beach, Va.; her grandchildren Peyton Davis, Kaitlin Davis, Dean “DW” Davis, Sammy Joe Davis, Gary Pope, April Dotson, Jessie “JR” Dotson, Heather Davis, Derrick Davis, Christine Davis, Kimberly Davis, Gary Garrels, David Garrels, Loyal Davis Jr., Barbara Woodruff, Daniel Williams, Matthew Williams, Jeremy Williams, and Cassandra Williams; a sister Lushie Robertson of Pilgrim, Ky.; and a host of great-grandchildren and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday; March 23, at noon from the Fundamental Christian Church, off of Rt. 52, at Varney, with Sis. Kay Fields and Bro. Jay West officiating. Burial will follow in the Ellison- Hatfield Cemetery at Newtown. Active pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Reece “Pee Wee” Hammond, Randall Williams, Andrew Kinder, Gary Kinder, Kenny Buck Varney, Butch West, Joby Fields, and Bobby Telfer.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday evening at the Fundamental Christian Church at Varney, WV with a special service at 7 p.m.
