Hobert Gwin, 69, died Tuesday, March 19.
He was born on May 25, 1943, in Perry County to the late Matthew and Geneva Campbell Gwin, and was also preceded in death by his wife, Helen Gwin, sister Cora Noble, and son Chuck Gwin.
He is survived by sons Randy Lynn Gwin and wife Sabrina Michelle of Sixteen Mile, and John “Bo Jack” Neace of Grapevine; daughters Tracy Nicole Gwin of Grapevine, and Tina Higgins and husband Don of Texas; brothers Tommy Gwin and Farmer Gwin, both of Big Creek; sisters Laura Gayheart of Lost Creek, Lizzie Noble of Lost Creek, Viola Neace of Breathitt County, and Lula Hamblin of Lost Creek; grandchildren Randy Keith Gwin, Lauren, Rebecca, and Megan Higgins; grandson John Neace, Jr.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Arrangements are being handled by Engle-Bowling Funeral Home of Hazard. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 22 at the Community Harvest Church in Lost Creek with Charles Ed Smith officiating. Visitation will be held after 6 p.m. on Thursday evening. Burial will take place at the Neace Cemetery located at Cockrell’s Fork.
