DRIFT - South Floyd just missed notching its second straight win over the weekend. Visiting Harlan managed to edge South Floyd on Saturday, edging the Raiders 7-6.

Harlan freshman pitcher Caleb Hogue collected his second win in the 2013 season. With the win, Hogue improved to 2-0.

Hogue pitched a complete game with eight strikeouts and three walks.

The Dragons returned to the win column following an 11-3 loss at Cordia one day earlier.

Helping his cause at the plate, Hogue had three hits, one of which was a triple.

Harlan overcame four errors. The Dragons also prevailed despite allowing South Floyd to score four runs in a single inning.

Harlan scored first and never trailed.

South Floyd, however, made the game interesting by scoring four runs in the fifth inning.

Marshall Ward delivered two hits for Harlan in the victory over South Floyd.

Harlan scored one run in the opening inning led 4-0 before South Floyd got on the scoreboard in the second. The Dragons owned a 7-2 lead when South Floyd pushed across four runs in the home half of the fifth inning.

The Raiders plated their six runs on eight hits.

South Floyd was charged with two errors in the loss.

South Floyd senior pitcher Jacob Crager suffered the loss.
