HINDMAN - Visiting Allen Central defeated Knott County Central 5-1 on Thursday evening in a non-district high school baseball game.


Allen Central scored its five runs on four hits.


Dustin Johnson went 1-for-2 as Allen Central notched the win. Johnson singled in the sixth inning.


Knott County Central couldn’t get anything going as long as Allen Central pitcher Tanner Hamilton was on the mound. The Allen Central hurler turned in an outstanding performance. Hamilton held Knott County Central hitless over five innings, allowed no earned runs, walked two and registered 10 strikeouts.


Allen Central never surrendered the lead after the fifth inning, scoring two runs on a two-run single from Hamilton.


Knott County Central’s lone run of the ballgame came in the sixth inning on an RBI single from Bristol McGee.


Allen Central added two more runs in the top half of the seventh inning. A sacrifice fly by Junior Handshoe scored Dalton Lawson for the inning’s first run.


Knott County Central scored its lone run on three hits.


Each team committed an error in the non-district game.
