Sheriff Walter “Eugene” Crum, 59, of Taylorville, passed away April, 3 2013, while serving the citizens of Mingo County, West Virginia.

He was born December 24th, 1953, in Logan to the Late Walter Crum and Myrl Steele Crum.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Harold Justice, sister Sheryl and her husband Carlos Jackson and sister Sue Curry. He was the son-in-law of the late Jack and Joetta Martin.

He was survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Rosie Martin Crum of Taylorville, his children Julie (Joey) Hall of Indiana, and Eugene “Bub” (Angela) Crum of Indiana, grandsons Steven and Joseph Hall and Kai Crum, and granddaughter Sydney Grace Ooten. And also, a special lady raised as a daughter, Dorothy (Jay) Hickman of Virginia, brothers Freddie (Kathryn) Crum and Denny Crum of Varney, Jeff Justice of Texas and also many nieces and nephews as well as a host of extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Sunday April 7th, 2013, at the Mingo Central High School gymnasium. The school will be open at 10 a.m. for additional visitation prior to the funeral.

Visitation will be Saturday, April 6, 2013 between the hours of 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. with the.

The Rev. Paul Caudill and Rev. Lewis Hall will be officiating the services.
