MADISON – The Mingo Central Miners lost a road game on Saturday to Scott High School 9-2.

“We’re just giving up too many out,” said coach Roger Staton. “We had a lot of errors against Scott. We need to back up our pitcher with better defense.”

“We’re doing okay, but we just need to get in some more games,” Staton added.

Matt Lester took the loss for the Miners giving up seven runs in four innings.

Scott Boyer got the mound win for the Skyhawks.

Junior catcher Alex Lee led Mingo Central with two hits, while Eli Cisco, Lester, Joe May and B. J. Warden each had singles. Cisco and May both had an RBI. Lester and Warden scored runs for MCHS.

Boyer helped his own cause with a pair of singles, while Spurlock went 3-for-3 with a 2-run home run in the first inning. He had four RBIs on the day.

Prince and Toler each had a pair of hits for Scott and both had doubles.
