CROOKED CREEK, W.Va. — Peggy Marie Staten Keathley McDonie, 92, of Crooked Creek, passed away Friday, April 5, 2013, at Trinity Healthcare.
Born February 26, 1921, at Delbarton, she was a daughter of the late Ireland and Nancy Jane Evans Staten. Also preceding her in death was her first husband, Columbus Keathley of Logan on March 24, 1967; second husband, David McDonie on June 25, 2007; brother, Roy Staten of Dade City, Fla., and her sister and nephews, Delphia Anne Staten Tinder, and Charles Ronald and Randall Craig Tinder, all of Logan.
Survivors include her nieces, Lori and Lisa Tinder, both of Logan; nephews, Roy, Tim and David, all of Florida, Jerry (Carol) Mawhorter of Royal Oak, Mich., and David (Sandy) May of Pontiac, Mich.; seven great-nephews; five great-nieces; special friends, Donald, Greg and Ranelle Hunt of Crooked Creek, and her neighbors and caregivers.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 11, at Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
Pallbearers will be Charles R. Tinder IV, Luke R. Tinder, Adam Tinder, Brandon Staten, Larry Staten, Billy Caldwell and Gregory Hunt.
Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Staten, Jerry Mawhorter, Donald Hunt and David May.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
