LOGAN, W.Va. — Gloria Dean Smith, 72, of Logan, departed this life Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at Trinity Healthcare of Logan.

Born May 1, 1940, at Stirrat, she was a daughter of the late Norman Meadows and Ethel Colley Meadows Ward. Also preceding her in death was one son, Norman David Smith, and one brother-in-law, Ron Griffey.

Gloria was retired from Logan PSD as an Administrative Assistant. She was a member of the Nighbert United Methodist Church in Logan, O.E.S. No. 60 Eastern Star, Past Matron, Grand Representative of Arizona, Logan Garden Club and Professional Woman Association.

Those left to cherish her memories include her husband of 54 years, Robert “Bob” Smith, to whom she was a beloved wife; one son, Greg (Robin) Smith of Logan; one daughter, Sherry (Roger) May of Omar; two brothers, Daris E. Meadows of Barnabus and Ronnie L. Meadows of Allenton, Mich.; three sisters, Nancy Griffey of Phelps, Ky., Norma Crum of Sterling Heights, Mich., and Barbara Belcher of Chapmanville; one granddaughter, Memphis Raine Smith of St. Albans; two grandsons, Anthony (Kim) May of North Carolina, and Adrian May of Omar, and two great-granddaughters, Maggie Grace and Mollie Kathleen May, both of North Carolina.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 13, at Collins Funeral Home Chapel with Pastors Ronnie Meadows and Wayne Meadows Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens in Godby.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
