LORADO, W.Va. — Evangeline “Angie” Clay, 90, of Lorado, went home to join her loved ones in Heaven Sunday, April 14, 2013, from her home after an extended illness.
Born June 7, 1922, at Huntington, she was a daughter of the late Noah and Tilda Clark. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Wayne Clay; two sons, Leroy “Pete” Clay and Billy “Bozo” Clay; three brothers, Rosco Clark, David Clark and Cisco Clark; three sisters, Lestie Adkins, Corindy Clark, and Mae Spradly, and one grandson, Terry Dale Clay.
Angie was a homemaker who was devoted to her family. She enjoyed traveling and shopping. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother.
Those left to cherish her memory include five children, Bobby (Brenda) Clay of Lorado, Larry (Billie) Clay and Brenda (Hal) Bellomy, both of Milton, Betty (Danny) Brooks of State Road, N.C., and Judy Francis of Thurman, N.C.; 15 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; a special friend, Pauline Trent Browning of Kistler; many nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 18, at the Lundale Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Bobby Adkins officiating. Burial will follow in Watson Cemetery at Four Mile at Branchland.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the beginning of the service at the church.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Brooks and Hal Bellomy.
