The criminal complaint says Terry Paul Browning, 36, of Simon, conspired with his wife to commit a shoplifting offense against Wal-Mart in the amount of $400.68.

Browning was in his 2001 Chevrolet Silverado when he fled from officers, driving east on WV Route 73 towards WV Route 10, driving at a speed of approximately 65 miles per hour.

The chase came to an end in the Middleburg Bridge area, where the vehicle was stopped and Browning placed under arrest.

The officers’ investigation revealed Browning had a shoplifting 2nd offense conviction from Raleigh County on March 20, 2011, and two previous convictions of fleeing-vehicle on March 31, 2006, and April 11, 2012, both from Wyoming County. Browning was also found to be driving revoked DUI on September 26, 2007, and had numerous unpaid citations.

Browning was arrested and charged with shoplifting 3rd offense, conspiracy, fleeing-vehicle 3rd offense and revoked DUI. His bond was set at $5,000.
