The Perry County Central Commodores hosted the Jackson City Tigers last week. The Commodores took a while to get started, but midway through began to pull away. They were able to go on to the 13-3 win.
Jackson City got on the board first with a single run in the first inning. Perry Central had to wait until the second inning to light up the board. The Commodores struck for a pair of runs, giving them the 2-1 lead.
The Tigers tied the game in the top portion of the third inning (2-2). The Commodores, however, exploded in the bottom of the inning, giving them the 9-2 advantage. Over the next two innings, the two teams traded runs (10-3).
Perry Central was able to cut the game short as they collected three runs in the sixth inning. The Commodores were able to take the win by the final count of 13-3. Jordan Baker got the win, going six innings with seven hits, three runs, three walks, and two strikeouts.
