Logan County Sheriff Sonya Porter released information about two drug busts that took place on April 19.
The Logan County Sheriff’s Department (LCSD) obtained information illegal drug trafficking was taking place in a residence at Holden. The US 119 Task Force was contacted and a search warrant obtained for the residence at Skyview Avenue, Holden. The LCSD, US 119 Task Force and the West Virginia State Police executed the search warrant.
Upon entering the residence, officers found two plastic bags containing approximately 18 grams of crack cocaine, a clear bag containing approximately two grams of marijuana and $1,551.00 in US currency, which Roshawn L. Ransom of Holden was trying to conceal.
After completion of this investigation, officers charged Ransom with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance (crack cocaine) and the residence owner, Neressa Hager of Holden, was charged with conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance (crack cocaine). Shannon Dawn Baisden of Verdunville and Adrienne Rene Chittent of Harts were both cited for possession of a controlled substance.
Ransom and Hager are incarcerated at Southwestern Regional Jail. Ransom is placed on a $35,000 bond and Hager is placed on a $15,000 bond.
Later during the night of April 19, deputies of the LCSD and the US 119 Task force obtained additional information on drug trafficking occurring in the Omar area of Logan County.
Another search warrant was obrtained for a residence at Omar. Upon the execution of this search warrant, deputies located in the kitchen of the residence a clear bag containing 59 individually wrapped pieces of heroin, 110 Roxycodone tablets, six grams of marijuana and $1,900 in US currency.
Upon completion of the Omar investigation, deputies found that the illegal drugs found there belonged to Corey Demond Green of Toledo, Ohio, and that he had been selling drugs throughout the day. Green was charged with possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance (Heroin). Green is incarcerated at the Southwestern Regional Jail and is currently placed on on a $150, 000 bond.
