Norma Jean Campbell, 71, died Wednesday, April 24 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington.


She was born August 22, 1941, in Hazard, the daughter of the late Sam Collins and the late Dorothy Fugate Hamblin. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Carl Campbell; son Bobby Wayne Campbell; brothers Henry, Gene, and James Collins; and sisters Rose Leddy and Wilma Lee Stidham.


She was a life-long resident of Perry County and was a member of the Second Creek Church of God.


She is survived by her son, Wendis Campbell of Lower Second Creek; daughters Shirley Craig and husband Earl of Nashville, Tn., and Freda Stacy and husband Lloyd of Lower Second Creek; brothers Kermit Collins, Raymond Collins, and Wendis Fugate, all of Indiana, and Paul Hamblin of Lower Second Creek; sisters Bonnie Lou Collins, Lavonne Collins, Wilma Colwell and Margie Allen, all of Indiana, Charlotte Kelly and Scarlet Faye McTarter, both of Lexington, Naomi Colwell and Melody Campbell, both of Lower Second Creek; along with 11 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.


Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, April 27 at noon at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home of Hazard with Merill David Collins officiating. The visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m.
