LMS softball 11-3 after win over Point Pleasant
The Logan Middle School softball team upped its record to 11-3 on the season with Monday’s see-saw 7-5 win at home over Point Pleasant.
Kelsey Ward started within the circle and went four innings with one strikeout. Stephanie Curry pitched final three innings and fanned six.
Alison Click was 2-for-4 at the plate to lead the Lady Wolves. Madyson Ooten, Lexi Hines and Chelsea Napier had one hit each.
“I am very proud of the team,” LMS coach Danielle Dalton said. “It was a group effort all around. The dugout never stopped cheering and the girls never gave up. That’s what I have been trying to get through to them all year about. Just because you make one error doesn’t mean to put your head down. Forget about that mistake and keep playing.”
Trailing in the sixth inning, Logan retook the lead.
Hylton got it started by drawing a walk. Napier singled and Stephanie Eplin was hit by a pitch to load up the bases. Ooten then ripped a two-run single to left. Click followed with a two-run triple.
Point Pleasant scored a run in the seventh but it was not enough as Logan won.
LMS was scheduled to host Winfield on Tuesday night.
