CHAPMANVILLE — First Baptist Church of Chapmanville will have Evangelist Bill Rice III, Chairman of the Board of the Bill Rice Ranch, speaking Sunday, May 5th.
“Dr. Rice will preach in the morning church service beginning at 11 a.m. and an afternoon service beginning at 1 p.m.,” said Jeff Hargraves, pastor of the church. “Bill is a straightforward preacher of the Bible and a blessing and help to all who hear him!”
Dr. Bill Rice III grew up in an atmosphere of revival and evangelism. As a young boy, he and his family traveled with his evangelist father in revivals throughout the United States.
In 1953 his parents, Bill and Cathy Rice, founded the Bill Rice Ranch. The Bill Rice Ranch is a revival ministry centered on the preaching of God’s Word. Originally begun to reach the Deaf, the ministry has grown now to reach thousands of hearing and Deaf people each year from around the world.
In his teen years, Rice became “camp foreman” under his father. After his father’s passing, the reins of leadership fell upon the capable shoulders of Bill III. He served as president from 1978 until 2003 when his son, Wil Rice IV, became president of the ranch. Bill Rice III’s effective, clear Bible preaching is expressed in the pulpit-centered philosophy of the Bill Rice Ranch, “To make the most of Bible preaching for the benefit of churches and the people they seek to reach.”
Dr. Rice is actively involved in the summer camp ministry of the Ranch and speaks around the country in local church revivals, conferences, retreats and regional events of the Bill Rice Ranch and West Branch. The First Baptist Church of Chapmanville is an Independent Baptist church located at 437 Main Street in Chapmanville. Pastor Hargraves invites everyone to attend this special meeting.
