CHAPMANVILLE — Chapmanville Regional High School hosted the West Virginia Secondary Schools Region Five Band Festival on April 11-12.

Bands from Logan, Boone, Lincoln, Clay, Mingo and Wyoming Counties converged over a two day period for a required ratings performance for judges LeeAnne Lykens, Rhonda Smalley and Tom Thompson. All secondary schools with band programs are required by the WV SSAC to perform in this festival for a rating or for comments.

Each band played two rated pieces with varying difficulties between 1 and 5 (most difficult) and were assigned scores from judges of 5 to 1 (which is superior) Congratulations to the directors and to the band members for an outstanding effort.
