Richard Dean Powers, 58, of Auxier, died Tuesday May 7, 2013 at Kings Daughters Medical Center. He was born December 5, 1954 in Paintsville to the late James and Bonnie Privett Powers. Richard was the husband of Charlotte Jarrell Powers, and a lineman for the Floyd S. Pike Power Company and a member of the Auxier Freewill Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by four brothers: Billy Powers, Freddy Powers, Jackie Powers, and Raven Powers; two sisters: Maggie “Pedal” Collins and Margie Fannin.

He is survived by four daughters: Chrystal Dawn (Donald) Marshall, Charla DeAnn (John) Hitchcock, Richa Elizabeth Powers (Daniel Daby) all of Auxier, and Rachel Brianne (Clinton) Halbert of Martin; three brothers: Glenn (Tish) Powers of Auxier, William “Jim” (Carol) Powers and Robert (Mary Jo) Powers both of Prestonsburg; two sisters: Deanna (Mac) Harless of Hager Hill and his twin: Charlene (Robert) Harless of Dayton, Ohio; seven grandchildren: Brady Hitchcock, Zachary Halbert, Laci Hitchcock, Peyton Cochran, Anna Hitchcock, Lindsey Halbert & Luke Darby and a host of nieces & nephews who he loved dearly.

Funeral services will be held Saturday May 11, 1:00 p.m. at Auxier Freewill Baptist Church with Bobby Joe Spencer and Shane Powers officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday at 6:00 p.m. and all day Friday at the church.

Burial will follow the service at Auxier Relocation Cemetery.

Nelson Frazier Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
