Parkway to see lane closures in Clark County for four months
by Times Staff Report
LEXINGTON – Locals traveling to central Kentucky might want to leave a little earlier, to account for road construction along the Mountain Parkway.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, Department of Highways, had announced that lane closures are in effect for a portion of the Mountain Parkway in Clark County. The closures are necessary for a new bridge to be constructed over the parkway.
The location for the closures is at mile point 10.58. Traffic is reduced to one lane in each direction for approximately four months.
One lane in each direction will remain open at all times.
Appropriate signage is in place to alert and guide the traveling public.
All scheduled work is subject to change depending on weather, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet asks motorists to be aware of the work zone and to utilize safe driving habits when traveling near the area.
