Mary Gladys DeRossett, 62, of Versailles, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2013, at Baptist Health Lexington.
She was born Dec. 3, 1950, in Prestonsburg to Emmogene Hughes DeRossett, of Versailles, and the late Wadegreen DeRossett. Mary achieved an Associate’s Degree in Nursing from Eastern Kentucky University, her B.S.N. at the University of Kentucky, an M.S.N. from Spaulding University and was a retired Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner with the Veterans Administration in Lexington. She enjoyed reading, shopping, baking and was an accomplished seamstress.
Also surviving are a brother, Grant (Sandy) DeRossett, of Lexington; an adopted granddaughter, AC 2nd Class (USN) Meagan DeRossett; two nephews, Norman Lee Bowers, of Ohio, and Wade Green (Julie) DeRossett II, of Carlisle; a niece, Gretchen (David) Games, of Frankfort; and seven great-nieces and nephews, Corey and Katie Bennett, Whitley, Miranda and Gavin Games, and Abby and Ellie DeRossett.
She was also preceded in death by her sister, Lois Ann DeRossett Bowers, and an infant sister.
Services were 7 p.m., Monday, May 13, at Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home by Bro. Jimmy Caswell.
Arrangements were under the direction of Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home.
