PIKEVILLE – The University of Pikeville women’s bowling program has landed another of top bowling prospect, this time a Kentucky state champion.

Tori Doyle, a senior at Scott County High School in Georgetown, has signed a scholarship agreement with UPike.

“I’m very excited that Tori has chosen to be a part of our program,” said Ron Damron, the two-time national coach of the year who has led the Bears to three national championships since founding the program in 2001-02. “We think she will be a valuable addition to our team and our campus.”

Doyle is set to compete in the Kentucky/Indiana All-Star series for a fifth time, and during her junior season of 2012, she won the first-ever Ebonite KHSAA high school state championship.

In July, Doyle will compete in the North Pointe Junior Gold Championships, which will be held in Detroit. A two-time Pepsi State Champion, she shot a 300 in the Pepsi qualifier as a sophomore.

“I’m truly thankful and blessed to join such an amazing team,” said Doyle, whose high sanctioned series is 738. “I’m very thankful for the opportunity.”
