E. WILLIAMSON - A vehicle that was said to have been turning into the Williamson Towers was rear
ended by the car behind him, resulting in substantial damage and minor injuries.
At approximately 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Mingo County 911 dispatched law enforcement and EMS to the
accident scene on E. 3
Tara Beth Tincher, who was operating a Scion TC, slammed into the rear of a 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier
driven by Brandon Bartoe.
Bartoe was allegedly in the process of turning into the Williamson Towers high-rise, and stated he
was waiting for traffic to clear before crossing the road when he glanced in his rear view mirror and
observed the Scion coming toward him at what appeared to be a high rate of speed. Bartoe said he hit
the gas in an attempt to avoid the oncoming car, but to no avail.
Bartoe’s Cavalier suffered substantial damage to the rear and side panel and the hood and front grill
of the Scion was moderately damaged. Bartoe was transported by STAT Ambulance to the Williamson
Memorial Hospital for treatment, complaining of back and shoulder pain. Tincher was not injured.
The accident was investigated by Williamson Police Sgt. Jimmy Spence. Members of the Williamson Fire
Department were on scene and assisted with patient care, scene clean up and traffic control.
