PRESTONSBURG — The Eastern Kentucky Walking & Racking Horse Association will hold their 24th annual horse show this weekend in West Liberty.

The horse show will begin at 5 p.m., May 25, at the Morgan County Equestrian Park, in West Liberty.

There will be 37 classes with over $8,800 in prize money and awards presented to winners Dalton Howard, Show Manager announced.

There will be several competition classes available at the show including: Lead Line, ASB Pleasure, Juvenile 17 and under Walking Horse, Open Ladies’ and Men’s Pleasure, Open Walking Specialty, Open Junior Racking Horse, Walking Pony Specialty, Juvenile Racking Horse 17 and under, Plantation Pleasure Horse Specialty Open, Two Year Old Walking Horse Amateur, Show Pleasure Walking Horse Open Specialty, Open Amateur Racking Horse, Ladies Amateur Specialty. Open Juvenile Pleasure, Open Walking Horse Amateur Specialty, Flat Shod Performance Racking Horse, Amateur Country Pleasure Horse Specialty, Three Year Old Walking Horse Open & Championship, Four Year Old Walking Horse Amateur Specialty, Juvenile 11 and Under Walking Horse, Style Racking Horse, Three Year Old Walking Horse Amateur, Country Pleasure Racking Horse, Amateur Owned & Trained Walking Horse Specialty, Open Two Year Old Racking Horse, Lite Shod Trail Pleasure Racking Horse, Two Year Old Walking Horse Open and Championship, Novice Amateur Walking Horse Specialty, Amateur Owned and Trained Racking Horse, Four Year Old Walking Horse Open Specialty, Trail Pleasure Open Racking Horse Championship, and Walking Horse Open & Championship.

The Eastern Kentucky Walking & Racking Horse Association was established in 1978 as a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the equestrian sport. The association affiliates horse shows for organizations that conduct horse shows to raise operating funds each year. The association also conducts a high point award recognition program for participants at affiliated horse shows.

An annual education scholarship in amount of $1,000 is presented each year.Currently one thousand copies of the affiliated horse show directory is distributed to the equine community in Eastern Kentucky.
