Troy Edward Mahon, 91 of Delbarton formerly of Beech Creek passed away May 23, 2013 at the Williamson Memorial


He was born Nov. 8, 1921 at Beech Creek. He was the son of the late Jay and Lizzie Lester Mahon. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Beatrice Mahon, brother, Charlie Mahon and a grandson Darel Craig Mahon.

Troy was a retired coal miner having worked more than 29 years. He was also the owner/operator of the Beech Creek Service Station. He also served in the US Army during WWII. He loved to attend church at the Sarah Ann Church of God and the Beech Creek Church of God. He love the children of the church.

Troy is survived by his wife of four years, Josephine Mahon, son, Darel Mahon of Beech Creek, sister, Jean Compton of Tennessee, grandchildren, Micah Mahon and Lyndsey Slone.

Funeral services will be held at the Chafin Funeral Home Saturday May 25, 2013 at 2 p.m with Rev. Gary Starr officiating. Burial will follow in the Kennedy/Mahon Cemetery at Beech Creek.

Visitation will be at the funeral home chapel Saturday from 1 p.m. until the start of the funeral at 2 p.m. Online condolences can be made at ChafinFuneralHome.Com
