Mingo County Schools, Office of Student Services and Attendance, has scheduled a series of public informational and comment meetings to present an overview of the Student Random Drug Testing Policy. Anyone having an interest in the policy is urged to attend a meeting in their attendance area. This is an opportunity for the public to hear some background on this issue and to provide comments.
The drug testing policy will be implemented at the beginning of the 2013-2014 school term for students in grades 9-12 who participate in interscholastic extra-curricular activities, and/or drive and park on school property, and/or opt-in participants.
The meetings will be conducted at the following locations:
Tug Valley High School, June 4, 2013, at 6:00 p.m.
Mingo Central High School, June 6, 2013, at 6:00 p.m.
Oral and/or written comments will be accepted. If you would like to pre-register to speak, please contact Drema Dempsey, Director of Student Services and Attendance. We will be observing time limits of three-minutes per speaker for comments. A handout and comment sheet will be distributed to make it more convenient to provide written comments.
