HARTS, W.Va. — Harold Gene Tomblin, 74, of Harts, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, June 4, 2013, at Logan Regional Medical Center.

Born March 16, 1939, at Harts, he was a son of the late Ira and Eunice Tomblin. Also preceding him in death was his step-mother Nola Gartin Tomblin; two brothers, Orville and Alfred “Bud” Tomblin; one sister, Jewell Tomblin Mansfield Dingess; one step-brother, Sam Gartin, and two brothers-in-law, Joe Frye and Orville Tomblin.

Harold enjoyed spending time with his wife, going to church and going to singing conventions. He loved to race cars, coon hunt, work in his garden, and spend time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed his special pets Bootsy and Snowball. Harold worked in Cleveland, Ohio for 5 years as a Mold Setter, 17 and one-half years at Star Tool & Die in Detroit, Michigan and 12 years at Letts Drop Forge in Detroit.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Robin Ann Butler Tomblin; two daughters, Peggy Sue (Mike) Smith and Elizabeth Ann (Matthew) Rons, both of Michigan; one son, Donnie Tomblin (companion Kathy Maddock) of Michigan; one sister, Vonnie Tomblin Frye of Harts; one step-sister, Phyllis Tomblin of Beckley; one sister-in-law, Vonnie Mae Mullins Tomblin; one step-brother, Conard (Treasa) Gartin; four grandchildren, Casey Rochelle (James) Patterson, Cheyenne Tomblin, Hailey Rons and Kaitlyn Rons; many special nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and his special friends, Mitch Adams, Jimmy Carter, Johnny Napier, Glen Manns, Terry Lucas, TJ Browning and many others.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, June 9, at Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Jimmy Carter officiating. Burial will follow at the Cole Branch Church Cemetery at Harts.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Harold.

Freeman Funeral Home of Chapmanville is in charge of arrangements.
