Logan County Sheriff Sonya Dingess Porter says the search continues for a Henlawson man.

James David Marcum, 44, reportedly went riding on an ATV on June 4 at about 10:30 p.m.

He has not been seen or heard from since that night.

“Officers are following all leads that they can and are working with the family,” Porter said. “If anyone has any information relating to Mr. Marcum, please contact us.”

Marcum is described as being 5’11” tall, weighing 195 pounds, with brown hair, gray and brown goatee and hazel eyes.

Marcum left from his home on 29 Suncatchers Trail in Henlawson reportedly heading north toward Pecks Mill. Marcum left that night without taking his wallet, identification or any money.

Porter said officers have been reviewing video from homeowners in the area who have security cameras installed.

“If anyone has any video from that night in the area of the Pecks Mill and Mill Creek, all the way back to Logan, please let us know,” Porter said.

Porter said they can verify that Marcum left on a four-wheeler because it was caught on a video tape from a residence in Henlawson.

Porter said the family hasn’t said if Marcum was suffering from any illnesses, other than he is extremely allergic to bee stings.

“He left without his Epi-Pen,” Porter said. “We’re real concerned for his well-being. The West Virginia State Police loaned us their helicopter this past weekend and they searched the mountains and trails in the Henlawson area the best they could. We are still also utilizing the search and rescue when we get information. The state police has been really good about helping us in our searches. LEASA has top notch with us. Roger Bryant has even went out on the river with a boat from Peach Creek all the way to Pecks Mill searching the shoals and the banks.”

“We also have a correction on the four wheeler,” Porter said. “It is actually a 1990 Honda 300 Fourtrax with a large light on the front of it.”

If anyone has any information or may have seen or heard anything in the Henlawson area the night of June 4, call the Sheriff’s Tipline at 304-792-8593. To reach dispatch after hours or weekends, call 304-752-7662. The Sheriff’s office can be reached at 304-792-8590 and the State Police can be reached at 304-792-7200.

“If anybody has any information, or if they think they saw him or the four wheeler, we would highly appreciate them calling,” Porter said. “We have not located him nor the four wheeler. If anyone is riding the trails in those areas and come across something suspicious, please call.”

“It worries me that it has been an awful long time to be in flip flops, shorts and a tee shirt without any money,” Porter said.
