Local attorney Phillip Amick, represented by attorney Jeff Simpkins of Williamson, appeared in front of Senior Status Magistrate appointed from Kanawha County, Marva Crouch. The Boone County Special Prosecutor appointed to the case was Keith Randolph.

Most of the charges Amick faced were dismissed, including two counts of violating a DVP, domestic battery, speeding and assault on an officer.

Amick entered pleas of no contest to the DUI charge and a new charge of obstructing an officer. He was assessed a fine of $100 and court costs/fees of $26.80 on the DUI charge, and $165.80 for the obstructing charge. Incarceration was time served, which was eight days.
