Juana Hash Young

Juana Hash Young, loving mother, grandmother, and sister, born March 28, 1930, passed from this life June 10, 2013, at home surrounded by her children, her sister Pat, friend Brenda Dotson, and caregiver Carrie Charles.
She was born at Berwind, the daughter of John and Bonnie Davis Hash, both of whom preceded her in death.
She was married to the late Sidney R. Young Jr. and was also preceded in death by grandson, Herbert A. “Herbie” Young, brothers John Hash, Jr., and Cameron Hash, and sisters Marie Griffith, Boyce Owens, and Pauline Chambers.
Juana was a homemaker, a devoted mother, grandmother, and sister. She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church, and was a member of the Williamson First United Methodist Church for 34 years. During that time she served as treasurer of the United Methodist Women, and was the Communion Steward for the Altar Guild. Juana also served on the Parsonage Committee, and on the church’s Administrative Council. She was a member of the GFWC WV Williamson Women’s Club where she served on various committees. Juana was also well known as a supporter of the youth at Belfry High School.
Juana is survived by a son, Sidney R. Young III, and a daughter, Bonnie (John) Goroncy, her grandchildren, S.R. and Jonica Young, Patrick and Anna Goroncy, and Amelia, Matthew, and John Travis Young, and one great grandson, Cameron Young. She is also survived by brothers, Dean (Geraldine) Hash and Paul (Kathy) Hash, and sister, Pat (Joe) Stallard, as well as special friends, Ann Lipps and Brenda Dotson.
A Celebration of the Life of Juana Hash Young will be conducted Thursday, June 13, 2013 at 11 a.m. from the Williamson First United Methodist Church, 101 W. 2nd Avenue, Williamson, WV with Rev. Allen Johnson officiating.
Entombment will follow in the Mt. View Memory Gardens Mausoleum at Huddy, Ky. Active pallbearers will be Stan Chambers, Patrick Goroncy, Brad Sowden, Ed Sowden, John Young, Matt Young, S.R. Young, and James Hash. Honorary pallbearers will be Russell Hash, Paul Pinson, George Poole, Howard Persinger,and Claude Dotson.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday evening at the Williamson First United Methodist Church.
