MYRTLE - A Logan County Couple found themselves in trouble in neighboring Mingo County after they allegedly committed acts of breaking and entering, conspiracy and grand larceny.

Mingo County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Joe Smith and Sgt. James Smith responded to a complaint on Ransom Drive on U.S. 119 on June 2nd in the Myrtle Community of Joe Chaffin, who reported that two motorcycles had been stolen from his outbuilding. The description of a 2000 Yahama 50 motorcycle and a 2005 Yamaha 90 motorcycle valued at approximately $1,800 was provided to the officers. During the course of the investigation, law enforcement discovered that Marvin Jay Crile, 39, and Tessa Crile, 33, a husband and wife from Switzer in Logan County had committed the crime.

The Crile’s reportedly stole the motorcycles and transported them to a location in the Omar community of Logan County where they sold them for $200 to an unnamed buyer. The stolen property was recovered.

The Crile’s were arraigned before Magistrate Dee Sidebottom and were released from the custody of the Southwestern Regional Jail at Holden after meeting the stipulations and conditions of their $5,000 bond. The pair appeared in Mingo County Magistrate Court today for their preliminary hearing before Chief Magistrate Dallas Toler and chose to waive their right to a speedy trial are will now have their case bound over to the grand jury. Public Defender Paul Montgomery was appointed to represent the wife and the attorney for Marvin has yet to be decided.
