Repairs approved for W.Va. governor’s mansion

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — Repairs have been approved on the West Virginia governor’s mansion.

The Capitol Building Commission approved the work Wednesday.

General Services Division Director Greg Melton says it will include exterior repairs and repainting, along with work scheduled for the reception room, ballroom, sunroom and staircases. Sunroom windows will be replaced by energy-efficient glass.

The Charleston Gazette reports the estimated cost of the repairs wasn’t immediately available. Work done on the mansion’s residential floors in 2006 cost about $3.4 million.
