Domestic assault complaints investigated by officers

WILLIAMSON - Criminal complaints on four, non-related domestic assault cases were released from Mingo County Magistrate Court, with all yielded arrests.
Randall K. Nichols, 30, of Lenore, was arrested by Mingo County Sheriff’s Department (MCSD) Cpl. C.G. Endicott and Deputy S. Smith on one count of domestic assault. The police reports states that the defendant’s mother reported in a signed complaint that her son threatened to cause bodily harm to his stepfather. The mother stated that the defendant told the victim that “if he would walk outside, he would whip him.”
Nichols was arraigned before Mingo County Magistrate Dee Sidebottom and was released from custody after posting his $500 bond.
Mark Anthony Maynard, 40, of Millers Creek Road in Williamson, was taken into custody by MCSD Deputies E. Sherrill, M. Lendearo, E. Williams, M.J. Miller and West Virginia State Police (WVSP) Trooper D. Williamson after being charged with one count of domestic battery.
According to the criminal complaint, Maynard allegedly did choke his live-in girlfriend around her neck and then proceeded to punch and kick her, causing redness, swelling and bruising to various parts of her body. The incident occurred at a Big Splint residence.
Maynard was arraigned before Magistrate Pam Newsome and was remanded to the custody of the Southwestern Regional Jail (SWRJ) on a $1,000 bond.
Leann Dent, 27, of Kermit, was arrested and charged with two counts of domestic battery and one count of domestic assault by MCSD Deputy E. Williams after she reportedly did unlawfully and intentionally make physical contact with Leslie Williams, who is her stepfather, cutting him on the abdomen and causing red marks and swelling to his ear. The defendant furthermore also grabbed her mother, Connie Williams, by the right arm and twisted it behind her back and allegedly scratched her multiple times. She is also accused of threatening to kill her mother. The incident occurred at the home of the victims.
Dent was arraigned before Chief Magistrate Dallas Toler and was transported to the SWRJ on a $2.500 bond.
Thomas Brent Young, 41, of Delbarton, was arrested by WVSP Troopers T.G. Kania, D.L. Contos and D.M. Williamson on charges of domestic battery, domestic assault and three counts of obstructing/resisting an officer.
The compliant states that the troopers responded to a domestic violence call at Varney. Upon arrival, the officers made contact with victim, Connie Young, who advised them that she and the defendant, who is her husband, had become engaged in a verbal altercation that quickly turned physical. She advised that her husband began jabbing her in the throat with his finger, causing redness and pain. Young was given numerous commands to place his hands behind his back but refused to comply.
Young was arraigned before Magistrate Dee Sidebottom and was released to the custody of the SWRJ on a $5,000 bond, where he remained as of press time.
