Dial Williams,75, died Wednesday, June 19 at the hospice care center in Hazard.

He was born January 17, 1938, in Knott County, the son of the late Frank Hopkins Williams and the late Elizabeth Delanna Ritchie Williams. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ima Jean Williams; brother Bobby Ray Williams; sisters Glenna Bowling, Pepper Dunaway, Nancy Belle, and Eula Nell Williams; and special friend Juanita Sebastian.

He had been a resident of Perry County since 1973, and by occupation he was a retired vocational school teacher. Dial was a Member of the Krypton Masonic Lodge, Shriners, and had a passionate love for bluegrass music.

He is survived by his son, Dr. Dale Williams and wife Cindi of Hazard; daughters Rhonda Williams Combs of Ocala, Florida and Gwen Williams of Hazard; sisters Theda Jones of Ocala, Florida, and Thelma Kaltenbach and Jessie Watts of Moraine, Ohio; grandchildren Shane Combs, Alan Williams, Amber Stevens, Taylor Williams, Matthew Williams, and Parker Williams; great-grandchildren Brittin Stevens, Michael Williams, and Brynlee Stevens; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home of Hazard on Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted on Sunday, June 23 at the Hunter Memorial Baptist Church at 2 p.m. with visitation starting at 1 p.m. at the church. Densmore Goodson and Roy Hodson will be the officiating ministers. Interment will follow in the Jones Family Cemetery located at Lost Creek, Kentucky. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center.
