PRESTONSBURG — A Floyd County woman was arrested Monday after jail officials say she tried to bribe them to bring her boyfriend cigarettes.

According to court records, Kimberly Hall, of Wayland, was arrested after she allegedly encouraged Floyd County Detention Center Deputy Jailer Levi Hamilton to accept an offer of a “pecuniary benefit” to deliver cigarettes to James Castle. Hamilton told the arresting authorities that Kimberly Hall tied a grocery bag with $20 in it to his vehicle, thereby attempting to influence Hamilton’s judgment and exercise in discretion in his official capacity.

Hall was charged with bribery of a public servant and booked into the Floyd County Detention Center. She is currently being held on a $1,000 surety bond. During her arraignment, the charge against Hall was amended to complicity to commit bribery of a public servant.

Charges against Castle had not yet been posted as of press time. Hall is next scheduled to appear in court on July 8 at 1:30 p.m. for a preliminary hearing.
