On Sunday, the Hazard-Perry 9-year-old all-stars took on the 10-year-old all-stars for the area championship. The 10-year-olds had little trouble as they took the win in four innings 12-2.

The 10-year-olds got off to a good start with three runs in the first inning. Micah Steele led things off with a single. Steele would then score on a Hunter Pigman double, while Pigman would score on a Cole Skiles triple. Skiles would score on an error (3-0).

The 9-year-olds would tighten the score to 3-2 in the third inning. Mason McAlarnis and Wyatt Hensley each scored after picking up singles. McAlarnis scored on a wild pitch, while Hensley came across on a Logan Thomas hit.

The rally was short-lived as the 10-year-olds erased the rally with four runs in the bottom of the inning (7-2). Hunter Pigman and Cole Skiles each received walks and scored on a wild pitch. Jarrett Napier got on board via the fielder’s choice and scored on an Andrew Ford hit. Ford would later score on a single by Braxton Amburgey.

The 10-year-olds finished the game in the fifth inning with a five-run rally. Hunter Pigman and Andrew Ford both had doubles in the frame (Pigman scored his third run), while Garrett Miller had the game ending single.

The 10-year-olds advanced to the next level undefeated with the 12-2 win.
