PRESTONSBURG — Heavy rains caused problems on at least one Floyd County road last weekend.

Workers from the Kentucky Highway Department had to be called out Sunday after heavy rains caused a mud slide to break through a makeshift retaining wall near Prestonsburg.

Crews were working on Town Branch after a retaining wall gave way to mud and water late Sunday afternoon.

Officials from the Highway Department garage in Allen could not be reached for comment as to whether there had been any other problems caused by the rains. Officials at the Minnie garage said that they had no problems on their end of the county.
