HAZARD, Ky. - A Perry County, Ky. man has taken the next step in his singing career that he hopes with help him make the right connection in Nashville, Tennessee and send him down the road to fame.

Henry Johnson can hardly remember a day when he didn’t love country music, and that he didn’t sing his favorite songs. Ever since he was the tender age of 5, Johnson has been entertaining his family and friends with his renditions of songs made famous by famous country artists such as Alan Jackson, George Straight, Keith Whitley and George Jones, just to name a few. Now that he’s grown with two children of his own, his aspirations and dreams have grown and expanded to encompass the lights of Nashville and Music Row.

‘I’ve always wanted to be a country singer,” stated Johnson. “After winning the Lyric Talent Quest held at the Mountain Arts Center last September, I become even more determined to see just how far my talent could take me, and that has led me here to Williamson to sign a contract with John Carlin of Lyrics Promotions, LTD.”

Born and raised in Hazard, Ky., Johnson is employed as a merchandiser for Dr. Pepper and Snapple. Although being a husband and a father keeps the country singer quite busy, he always finds time to do the thing that makes him the happiest, and that is picking and singing. Johnson had penned a few tunes of his own, but concentrates on singing cover songs made popular Nashville artists that made it to the big time after paying their dues and climbing the ladder of success. The home town country boy knows that with the right break and his music being placed in the right hands, he could achieve the same dream.

Johnson has played his guitar and sang to a variety of audiences throughout the tri-state area and will be making an appearance in Mingo County on Sept. 7th as he takes the stage at the Kermit Fall Festival before entertaining his faithful fans once again at the Mountain Arts Center on Sept. 14. He is currently recording his first album and hopes to release it around the first part of 2014.

Johnson asked to express his gratitude to all who have supported him in his endeavors and invites the public to visit his Facebook page titled “Henry Johnson’s Music Page”, where you can view photographs and listen to the artist as he entertains.

In closing, Johnson stated that he has a five year plan in place and is planning on relocating to the City of Nashville to further pursue his dreams of becoming a star.

“I’m going to give it my best shot,” said the singer. “Dreams never become reality if you don’t step out on faith, stay determined and give it all you got.”
