U.S. Rep. Darrell Issa’s office contacted The Times to take issue with Wednesday’s editorial regarding Issa’s proposed changes to the U.S. Postal Service. Communications adviser Ali Ahmad noted that Issa’s proposal would not eliminate all home delivery of mail, but rather “to-the-door” delivery. Ahmad said curbside delivery would still be allowed, where available. Ahmad further said Issa is committed to protecting rural postal customers, and cites as an example another section of the bill, which would limit the number of post offices that can be closed each year.
