PIKEVILLE — Jenny Wiley Theatre this week opens the first in a new series of plays focused on the infamous Hatfield and McCoy Feud.
“Feud: Part 1 — The Story of Johnse Hatfield and Roseanna McCoy,” by playwright Michael Ross Albert will hit the stage this Thursday in conjunction with the Hatfield and McCoy Heritage Days in Pikeville. “Feud: Part 1” explores the forbidden love story between Johnse Hatfield and Roseanna McCoy.
Set in 1881 in Pike County, the three characters, Johnse, Roseanna and Paris McCoy, have one fateful night to tell their stories. As the night progresses, truths are revealed, history is set in motion and the legend begins. This show is rated PG.
Public performances will be held Aug. 29 through Sept. 1. Doors open at 6:45 p.m. and performances begin at 7:30.
Reserved ticket prices are $20 for adults, $18 for seniors, and $10 for youth. Tickets at the door are $22 for adults, $20 for seniors, and $12 for youth. For reservations, call 877-CALL-JWT, Seating is limited.
