Did you sustain personal property damage during the derecho that hit the area on June 29? If you did, the Federal Emergency Management Agency would like to know.
FEMA recently awarded Fayette, Kanawha, Nicholas and Raleigh counties Individual Assistance. This decision came after Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin’s appeal to FEMA on August 28, after the federal agency initially denied his request for individual assistance to help West Virginians recover from the June 29th storm.
FEMA is asking residents of other counties who suffered property damage during the late June wind storm to contact FEMA to see if additional counties can be added to the Individual property assistance program.
Those who wish to report their damages have been asked to call 1-800-621-FEMA (3362).
