MITCHELL HEIGHTS, W.Va. — Mr. William Henry “Bill” Wall, 89, of Mitchell Heights, was born April 8, 1923, at Rita, a son of the late Robert and Virginia Wall. He departed this life Thursday, December 20, 2012, at Patty’s Home Away From Home at Whitman.
Mr. Wall was a former photographer for the Logan Banner, retired from the Letter Shop as a business machine repairman and a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II. While serving in the Army, he survived the Pearl Harbor Attack and was a Purple Heart Medal Recipient.
Also preceding him in death was his loving wife of 56 years, Nancy A. Ferrell Wall; two brothers, R.D. Wall and Clyde “Lucky” Wall; sister, Patty Hale; nephew, A.D. “Corky” Hale and niece, Jean Ann Miller.
Survivors include his brother, J.C. (Sue) Wall of Cardiz, Ky.; brother-in-law, Roy Ferrell of Warsaw, N.C.; sister-in-law, Lou Ferrell of Mitchell Heights, and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, December 23, at the Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Kent Blevins, minister, officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Nephews and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may call one hour prior to services Sunday at the funeral home.
