MAN — The Man High School volleyball team upped its record to 11-5-1 on the season with last Thursday night’s 3-1 win at home over Buffalo Putnam at the Man Memorial Fieldhouse.
The Lady Billies prevailed 25-23, 21-25, 25-17 and 25-19.
“Mika McCoy continued her consistent play,” Lady Billies coach Orlando Washington said. She plays really hard out there. My hope is that the rest of the team will follow her lead. We have a hard time keeping our focus for long periods of time when we are playing and that hurts us. Once we fix a couple of things I look for the second part of the season to be really good for us. We have the talent they just have to go out there and display it on a more consistent basis which I believe they can.”
Man is scheduled to return to action with Tuesday night’s home tri-match against county rival Chapmanville and Class AAA Lincoln County. Then on Thursday, the Lady Billies host another home tri-match as Greater Beckley Christian and Tug Valley comes to town.
“Everyone is encouraged to come out and watch the girls and we would love your support,” Coach Washington said.
